REDLANDS - When Rafael Acuna and some friends arrived at a party this morning with a generous supply of beer, they were probably the center of attention.
But the guests weren't the only ones seeking out their stash.
It turns out the trio didn't pull out their wallets to pay for the beer. They used a gun instead. And Redlands police weren't too far behind.
'We ended up arresting Acuna, two juveniles and another subject named Alexander Sicairos on a warrant,' said Redlands police Sgt. Travis Martinez.
Acuna, a 17-year-old boy, another teen and an unknown man hit the Valero station at the corner of Texas Street and Colton Avenue at 9:24 p.m. Monday.
Police said one of the robbers lifted up his shirt to show an employee a handgun. They took off with a 20-pack and two 12-packs of beer.
About an hour later, they came to the ampm mini mart at the corner of Redlands Boulevard and Citrus Avenue and stole more beer, Martinez said.
Then they came to the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Lugonia and Tennessee avenues where they robbed the business of two 24-packs of beer.
Their next stop was a party in the 1100 block of East Citrus Avenue. Police received a call around 1 a.m. about the party."
When they showed up, police recognized several of the guests as suspects in the Valero station robbery.
Police arrested Acuna and the two teens on suspicion of robbery, burglary, conspiracy and gang enhancements, Martinez said. Police said Acuna was also held because he was on parole
