Sabres sign defenseman Teppo Numminen to one-year contract:
Numminen missed all but one game of last season after suffering a heart ailment.
Originally selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the second round of the 1986 NHL draft, Numminen has played in 1315 regular season games, recording 620 points.
Over his 19-year NHL career, Numminen has played for the Sabres, Stars, Coyotes and Jets."
