Los Angeles - According to reports, Mary Kate Olsen’s lawyer has repeatedly told U.S. government investigators that she will not talk to them about Heath Ledger and the circumstances around his death unless she gets immunity.
Mary Kate was the first person called after her masseuse discovered Ledger’s body.
Everyone connected to Ledger and his death have been interviewed by investigators, except the pint sized Olsen. Even Ledger’s ex-wife Michelle William was questioned by investigators.
“Ms. Williams was extremely nice and cooperative,” a source said.
Another added, “Everyone has been very eager to help, saying what a great guy Heath Ledger was, everyone except Mary-Kate, who has refused to speak.”
The medical examiner ruled that Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and OxyContin - which was obtained illegally - and that’s why they want to talk to Olsen to see if she knows something about where he got his drugs and medicines.
An insider explained that Olsen would be the final witness they need to conclude their investigation into where Heath got his drugs and medicines.
Frustrated federal officials could obtain a grand-jury subpoena to compel Olsen to tell whatever she knows about the late Ledger’s behaviour, his possible drug use and the events of that fateful morning.
The New York Police Department closed their investigation but the DEA (US Drug Enforcement Administration) opened an investigation to determine the sources of Ledger’s drugs.
